Plus ~1.5 km by walk (details below)
Oberfeld
I got out of the house right after the rain, and my first stop was Oberfeld, a small patch of fields on the east side of Darmstadt. I love this place – it’s always so quiet and peaceful here. The only drawback is that the location is too small.
First glade
After a short drive into the woods, I came to the first glade. Surprisingly, it turned out to be unnamed.
Second glade
The second glade was just as nameless as the first one. After standing for a while, I moved on.
Bernhards-Brunnen (Ruthsenbach)
Third glade
One more glade. That’s what I love about being out in nature – besides its sights, I just want to hear only the sounds of it.
Scheftheimer Eiche
Some field
It’s not a clearing, it’s a field because you can see that this place has been cultivated and something was growing here. Perhaps this place looks unremarkable, and apparently I got bored, because here I decided not to go further along the road, but to take a «little» shortcut. As a result, driving through the field, I suddenly found out that its apparent «flatness» with growing grass is just an appearance, and the field became really muddy after the rain, so not waiting for the moment when I got stuck, I «cranked» the engine to maximum and pedaled hard. All the mud from the rear tire, despite the mudguard, flew onto my backpack and my head.
Menhiranlage von Darmstadt
This is a prehistoric stone circle of the Neolithic era (mid VI – end of III millennium BC). Honestly I can’t fully realize how old they are – they were put here during or even before the first Egyptian pyramids. Yes, these are «just» stones, but they were moved by hand by people who lived over 5000 years ago.
Some unknown location
«Unexpected» happened
Suddenly discovered I had a flat tire. It may have been punctured by a branch because I sometimes ride off-trail. Suddenly discovered I had a flat tire somewhere. The funny thing is that every time I drove away from home I always remembered about the pump, but every time my mind was something like «Come on, everything will be fine like last time!». Furthermore, I never even had a spare tire…
I was about 6 kilometers from home.
Then I rolled the bike for about 1.5 kilometers until I accidentally saw another cyclist riding towards me. Thanks to him for stopping and giving me a pump. After pumping the tire, I rushed home at full speed before it went flat again.
Back home
In fact, I didn’t really hope that I would be able to get home on the bike, and I was sure that the last kilometer or two I would have to walk and roll the bike anyway. The last kilometer the rear wheel was on the verge and it skidded at every even small turn.
However I was able to get home on wheels and finally get a look at the «results» of the trip.

Update 09.10.2024
I finally ordered new inner tubes and pulled out the flat one. It turned out it was this little thing that had caused all the problems.
